Plug for DuraVent 3pvp-hsc Vent cap

I wanted to know if there is any type of plug or cap to close off the bottom of this DuraVent horizontal vent (3pvp-hsc) end piece? I am preparing to close up the stove for the summer and would like to close this off so critters/birds don't get into it. I searched online but could not find anything.

    What am I?

So we are in the process of renovating our open hearth area, and we have this opening? (A vent? Maybe?) We’re not sure what the purpose of it would be, and whether it’s wise to just seal it and proceed with overlaying stone on top. We are installing an insert as soon as it’s delivered.

My...
