Hubby retires at the end of this school year and then we move back to the lake. We've done a few projects on the dome. 2012 we had it powerwashed and coated with elastomeric coating.

2013 we had the fence put in the back yard.

Looking forward to moving, just not the actual move. :)

Long time no see. Looks like a place that won't have as many interesting insects/critters around. Enjoy the new place. You earned it.

Oh, we'll still have coyotes and rattlesnakes. In addition now we have deer and raccoon, turtles and copperheads and cottonmouths. :( I am sad we won't have a wood stove--we have almost 6 acres and lots of trees. Had to have a few taken down from a tornado last year--one split and two uprooted. But no way am I going to try and go through 12" walls of cement and rebar not to mention the 25-30 ft ceiling. A firepit will have to do. Hope I can stay an honorary burner here.

That looks like quite the interesting and unique house. Any pics of the interior (and wood stove?)

For some reason I thought of you and David and Ricky Nelson when I heard the news about Phil Everly today.

No wood stove in the dome--only here in the desert. I have a few pix of the interior.

Congrats on retirement, this is the year for me too.

There's no place like dome, eh?

Your place is beautiful! Glad you will have more time to enjoy it too. You will no doubt learn that retirement can be great!

Cool abode. Was the design based on efficiency? How much of a heat load is needed during the winter months?

Very cool abode. Any teenagers in the neighborhood? Ever worry any of 'em will be tempted to surf that pontoon boat from the top of the hill down to the water, as part of some late-night mischief?
