Just wanted to send out a BIG THANK YOU to all at Hearth.com for patiently walking me through trying to get my original Lopi Leyden to work, and then guiding me to the correct replacement purchase.
I sold the Leyden to someone aware of its flaws, who took the whole stove apart and rebuilt it with replacement parts. Something I just wasn't prepared to do. It's working well for him now, and I'm glad it found a new home.
I've been burning the Jotul Castine for 2 weeks now, and it is an absolute joy to use, especially compared with the Leyden.
I think it's perfect for the 300 square foot living room. Family complaining tonight the room was starting to overheat, with it about 30 degrees outside. But that's without fans, etc and that will be easily managed. Can't wait for the roxul and block off plate to see what it can really do. Far end of the first floor at 65 degrees. I know many thought I should go Oslo, but I think I got it just right.
So again, thank you.
And bear with me when I come back in the summer needing help insulating the liner and building the block off plate!
