First off just want to say I've lurked around this forum quite a bit and I've already found a lot of information that is really helpful. Thank you!
So, I'm thinking about a wood insert (Regency i2400 or Enviro Venice). We use the fireplace quite a bit and wasting all that heat is really getting to me. The insert would go in a 260 sq ft room on the first floor of a 2 story 2000 sq ft house. It's a standard colonial and not a particularly open floor plan. I would like the stove to be able to heat the 1st floor (about 1000 sq ft). Any heat that finds its way upstairs (separate hvac zone) would be gravy. What I'm concerned about is all the heat getting trapped in one room. So, my question is - how effective is it to place small fans at the top of a doorway or simply cutting vents in between rooms? The room with fireplace is on one end of the house.
Thanks in advance!
