Looking to get a pellet stove for the house. Grew up on them and have been hooked ever sense.

Here is our current ZC propane fire place. I'm looking for advise/suggestions on converting it to an alcove for a free standing unit.

The other side of the alcove is a bedroom FYI

Here is the current setup:

Looking to do something like this:

Any suggestions on lining the walls etc after I get the framing re-done?

Thanks

Aaron

Once the framing is done ( assuming 2x4 ) I would use 1/2" cement backer board and tile it. If you like the brick look they actually rip real brick to 3/8" thickness and it looks great. Photo is of a salon I did with the brick product.
