Just splitted a little wood on the weekend. Found this massive critter hiding in the centre of a split. Not sure what it is but its big and ugly. It was too warm (high 80's) on Sunday to finish off the splitting so will have to complete it next week when it cools down a bit.

Some kind of Marsupial?==c

My chickens would probably keep their distance from that one.

Good on ya- wiki says many species are scarce. Dodgy lookin' beast, though!

Reminds me:

Years ago the kids had a pet anole (lizard). We could buy tiny crickets to feed it from the local pet store.

But, I figured why not save a little money and just catch crickets from the yard.

Well, I found this BIG OLE black cricket and figured "wow, what a feast/treat this will be for the lizard".

Next day we found that the cricket ACTUALLY ate the lizard. :eek: (well half of it anyway)

You didn't specify boys or girls, but I'll be the girls cried and the boys said, "cool!"

<-- has a son who, at age 2, always wanted to know what animal he was eating. "is this pig or cow?" he would only eat eggs if we called them "liquid chickens"

Dunno what that is, but 90% of the stuff you guys have down under will kill you. I would probably run away, screaming like a school girl.;lol

Haha....awesome! I was actually going to post that picture but you beat me to it! It was the first thing that popped in my mind!

Think it's a cave cricket shedding it's skin.
