Wanted to share some pics from my weekend project. Restored my Little Moe with some new fire brick, fresh door gasket, and some black stove polish.

Grinder off some rust with a wheel wire and then polished. Certainly isn’t perfect, but at least in better shape than I found it!

You will now be reapplying stove polish every year. Honestly if I were you I would strip off the stove polish now with some acetone sand and paint it with a high quality stove paint

Looks better. But that stove polish is a nightmare. Stove polish is not meant for steel. And I dont even agree with using stove polish on unpainted cast iron. Its an antiquated product and does nothing to protect. If they had high heat paint 100 years ago that they could apply once and be done, they would have stopped using stove polish completely.
