After seeing on this forum Somersets could be found @ Lowes, I called all the stores in my area (including Dayville Ct ) and nearby RI. All I would typically get is No we do not have any I had to stop by my local Lowes Dayville Ct this past Thurs night after work for another item and decided to peek in the outdoor seasonal just to see what was shakin and possibly put some GT in the basket just because. On the end of the aisle was a a full pallet of Somersets. I inquire and they insure me this is all they have. They dont know when they will be getting more if at all. Hmmmm having the wifes car at the time I said this is not going to work. I pay for them and the woman in customer service says its typically easier to pick up during the week rather than the weekends. She says there is actually more help weekdays rather than on weekends. I scratch my head and thought this explains the experience of a home improvement store on a weekend . So I call my retired father who loves to load his utility trailer and do dump runs and odd jobs. . He says he could go on Fri and leave trailer in yard for me to unload over the weekend thinking my wife would be at work . Great... I have a stash started for $187.20 for "sets" (or so I thought). Back of my mind I am nervous thinking what if he comes to my house w/ a pallet of Infernos?
Wife is OK w/ this new winter hobby of mine having of a pellet stove and maybe not calling the oil man as much this winter .She is even OK w/ the time I spend at hearth.com looking at pellet porn. Long story short I come home Fri evening to 2 pallets in the driveway. Hmmm I thought Where did his "extra" pallet come from? How did he get them off the trailer? I open the garage door to a sea of black bags on the exterior walls of garage stacked by the Mrs. and handed off the trailer by Dad. I was stunned and elated. This was supposed to be "my" hobby and I had yet to purchase or yet stack a single bag of pellets. Evidently Dad kept asking if they had more and kept going back and the Mrs kept stacking them. The pallets were outside in driveway because they couldnt fit another bag in garage. This has been a terrible year for us w/ some really bad luck and serious illness in our family but for a while it was awesome to finally have something positive happen.
