Been gone for awhile looking at new stoves again.

Were selling our house and I'm buying my dads house. He passed last year. I'm looking at putting in 2 stoves. The basement ill be putting in another 4300 Quad steptop. up stairs we are looking at Hearthstone Homestead or a V C Defient.The Quad has Great! I was Wondering how the new stoves are? Quads,V C, Hearthstones Good bad or otherwise>

There are plenty of choices besides the Defiant or Homestead if the options are wide open. Where is the stove going, freestanding with new chimney or tied into an existing chimney or fireplace? How large an area will you be heating on the main floors?

The stove upstairs will be free standing with a new chimney out the back wall and up. The house is a 1300 sq. ranch. Kitchen living room and dinning room will be heated by the stove. The living room is not that big that why I'm looking at smaller stoves.

With the Quad in the basement it sounds like you would do fine with a 2 cu ft stove. Most of the time the Quad alone could probably heat the place if the basement is insulated. There are lots of stove to choose from. If you want a cast iron stove look at the Jotul F400 and F500, the Heartstone Shelburne, and maybe a Hampton H300. Or consider a steel-cast iron hybrid like the Quad Cumberland Gap, Jotul F45 or the Pacific Energy Alderlea T5.
