And just think, the forecast is for the cold weather to hit most of us next week! Might make this week feel not so cold.

same here but tonight its suppose to be -3. then a little warm up then back to cold for next week again. loving the temps. cant wait to go on my overnight snow shoeing trip this weekend.

I am basking in a balmy 1 degree F. Furnace actually ran last night. I just pulled the ash forward to burn it down and it will climb from 68 to 72 in short order...

Woke to outside temp of -10. That's the coldest we've had so far this winter. House was 62, and lots of coals in the stove to get a new fire going. That's been at 600 for almost an hour, and the house is now 64. Last year, if I had left the stove all night like that in the same temps, the house would have been 55, and the stove would have been dead cold in the morning. I had the alarm set to get up at 5:30 to check the stove, but turned it off and fell back asleep 'til about 8.
It's funny how Accuweather shows our temp @ +6, Weather Underground shows -14, and my probe thermometer is @ -8.
House is now @ 65 at 9:10, and climbing.
Rambling over.
