BIS 1.2 chimney question

Hello all again,
As I stated in another post, I am pulling out my BIS fireplace and putting in a new stand alone stove. I am not sure what I will put in yet but I wanted to know if I could use my current chimney. Here are some pics of what my fireplace looks like and where the chimney attaches.

That will depend on the new fireplace requirements. You have Security ASHT pipe there. I think this is approved for use with the BIS Traditions (or Lennox Montecito) fireplace.

I am looking at getting a stand alone stove. Maybe a Cape Cod or regency.

Hmm, I think it is class A and it may be fine, but I can't tell you that for sure. Their current class A pipe is Security ASHT+. Not sure the difference. Give Security a call to be positively correct.

That BIS looks like one serious machine. Did it have a ducted system to get hot air into your furnace?

This is actually not mine. It is the same model and set up. Mine is still hooked up and not it does not go into my furnace. It is ducted to about the fireplace. It does keep my 2100sqf house warm but only about a 2 -3 hour burn. not EPA. Just a baffle.

My parents have a newer BIS unit that I would guess is a 2005 model. It is ducted into their furnace and works amazing for their 3000+ sqft sprawling house.

For your interests sake, it's getting about 8 hours avg burn time and is really effective. Distant rooms are cool but livable in very cold temperatures

I did find a Lopi Endeaver online for around $400. It says it is around 20 years old. Looks the same as newer ones but I don't know the differences between the newer ones and 20year old ones. Does anyone Know?
