First thanks to all who provided me with advice as I was considering the Blaze King Ashford verses the Lopi Liberty. We heat about 3400 sq ft , super air tight & insulated house. I ended up going with the Ashford at the recommendation of my dealer who sold both, mainly because of the insulation factors of our house and the ability to run the Ashford low and slow. So far we have been burning about a month straight, for the past week or so we have had very cold temps for our area, low single digits at night and upper teens during the day. The stove lives up to its reputation of being able to run very low when we had warm days, but during this cold spell it also has preformed flawlessly, out Geo Thermal Heat hasn’t even kicked on at all, super impressed. I have been burning beatle killed ash and a little black walnut mixed in, getting 8 hours burns with thermo at about 60% and had a 13 hour where there were still enough coals to add wood and get the fire started back up. Stove has been very easy to operate and regulate, Thanks again for all the help

Any pics of a (black box) burning stove you're willing to share?

Enjoy the heat and the ease of operation. Many folks are weary of a bypass handle. Glad you reap the rewards of your efforts now.

Here it is after install, I raised it 6 inch granite blocks to help with loading and clean outs, I am old and getting older lol

Wow, fantastic!

What I find so nice with a BK is the regular stove intervals. I load a 8am, set thermo and walk away. Reload at 8pm after work and dinner, set thermo and walk away. So the stove compliments my lifestyle rather than interfering. I have no idea how those who wake up during each night to reload tolerate that situation. But to each their own.

That is the kind of stove I'd have. I had a quote for one of these, but went with a pellet stove for various reasons. Would that one have a long burn time? Probably too small.

Plenty of stoves besides BKs can run thru the night without being reloaded.
I didn’t say there wasn’t. I had a 4 hour burn time Napoleon and when I wanted/needed longer burn times I bought a BK.
