hi there. today I did a thorough cleaning. I took out the blower and cleaned it thoroughly. it was only 2 bolts to take out. after I installed it and turned it on there is a loud chattering sound. I disconnected the blower and examined it and everything looked fine. I ran the stove with the blower not attached and it was not making any unusual sound. however as soon as I lined up the 2 bolts it immediately began making the sound again. I don't think it is coming from the blower, but the blower is causing it, if that makes any sense..any suggestions??

Maybe a fan blade got bent some how and threw the rotation off just a bit

The blower sounds normal on the bench? Then it must somehow be misaligned when bolting back into place. Only 2 bolts? Most blower flanges would have 3 or more bolts to attach. I would carefully re-examine how the bolts are re-attached. What model stove is it?

It's actually a vistaflame vf100 insert. With a fasco blower/fan. Thanks

Maybe a loose nut or other object in bottom of cavity where fan fits? Or a loose piece of ducting or sheet metal part of stove? Or fan blade that got bent when cleaning is now hitting the frame?

Seeing there is only 2 bolts. Are the bolts directly across from each other like top to bottom or left to right ? If they are at a 90* angle one of the bolts might have come loose and fallen out. But if the bolts are directly across from each other. Is it possiable that while you were cleaning it the unit it got flipped around? A fraction of an inch can make a big difference.

That is what I was thinking. Rotate the fan 180 degrees.
