Broken Log Splitter Control Handle

Hey all,

I have a Speeco 22 ton log splitter and today I sheared off the control handle from the hydraulic valve. Best I can tell from a google search is the handle is not a replaceable part and the whole valve has to be replaced.

I would love to know if anyone can offer another solution.

First off, how did you manage that? Secondly, I think your search is right, but call Speeco, and ask them, they have very knowledgeable people in customer service. Pics would help, but is the valve still intact? Just the lever broken? I would think the force to do that would damage internals.

‘Splain, please??? What you mean “sheared”? The handle is just a lever operating the control valve. Did you break the handle to the control valve connection? Or do I have this all wrong?

I may have found the solution - Energy Manufacturing made the valve and I have a call into to them to see if I can get just the handle.

Yeah - that one is cast, so difficult to repair. Replacement or build a new one is probably the best options.

Get a short piece of cold rolled steel, heat one end red hot and form it to the correct thickness. Drill a hole and your back in business. Hopefully the OEM will sell you one though. If your nice sometimes they'll just send you one.

Pull the pin(remove clip) remove pin and broken part of lever install new lever or make one

Would something like this work? The holes might be the right size but that would be easy to fix. They have other handles too.
