After going back and forth on new or used stove found a nice used one. The cleaning and install with commence tomorrow Can't wait to turn off the electric heat we have and very grateful that our landlords are allowing us to do this
As I told you last year Tim, I love your Hastings too and never miss a peak at your avatar when you post.. But I won't be trading my P61 for one LOL. The P61 was just such a simple design that resonated with me but the StCroix looks was alluring.. If it had been StCroix that won out I wouldn't be tossing it out the door either. They build a fine stove ! Actually though, it was the Prescott with leg options on it that we were considering.Love my Hastings. It hasn't given me a moment's grief. Im on my 6th heating season and it still has 100% factory original parts, even the igniter.
They installed it. Their daughter had one here before us. All I had to do was clean the chimney liner and put in a 1ft piece of pipe to connect to my stove. Doesn't get much easier than thatAre you connecting to an existing chimney? I'm sure your landlord expects your vent system to "up to code"..

View attachment 168315 Its alive. Burned a half bag of Lignetic (sp) that guy gave me, a bag from TSC that just says hardwood and now trying Greene Supreme from HD. May just go for the GS for the fact of low delivery charge. Wish the ones from TSC had more info on who makes them. Seemed to burn nice

Nice congrats ! I love those stoves in an earthly way.
TSC has a couple of different Vendors, one being Maine Woods Products. If they burn nice the just about have to be better than GS though, whether it says anything on the bag or not.
Scanned it and came up as Lignetics Inc. Aren't those a higher end pellet ?For the TSC bags, you can scan the barcode with an app called iGepir (iphone or android). Around here they come back as Maine Woods. I have 3 tons on the garage.
Me too. And anyway his other choice seems to be Green Supreme. Between these two, no contest, get the TSC's.Lignetics burned well in my stove . If TSC carried that brand , locally to me I'd supplement my stash with more then a few bags .
