Every year on my first fire of the season I get this burning plastic smell coming off my PH. It only lasts one burn and I live in a drafty house so it's not unbearable. Does anyone have a guess what this is from?

Dust burning off?

Dust makes sense. Does that happen to others here?

Yup, I smell it the first couple times things get really hot. Heh. Sometimes I dust, sometimes I don't. Lol.

I always smell dust burning off with the first fire of the season.

Dust . . . same thing happens when the oil boiler kicks on for the first time and the dust "burns" off the radiators.
