Feeling the Heat

Down into the low teens tonight, single digits later in the week. My XXV is doing its best to keep up, but I thought I'd toss in some old school Okies to give her a hand.

I do believe winter has arrived!

i still have a few of the old bags left over from 3 yrs ago and 10 bags of dragon mountain as well.may toss those in over the nxt few days with this cold spell we are in for

Yep, going to be in the teens tonight, and for most of the week at night.....BRRRRRR.
Somersets just got dumped in the stove, and it's on Hi-Lo now.

Ready to deploy the Somersets and the Barefoots. Burrrrski!

Not cold enough to change yet. I'll consider it if they start talking about real cold.

What's Hi-Lo on the CPM? 9-1? Or are you talking about the bottom three?

I looked and have seven bags in the house and three bags in the garage, all less than ten days since the truck delivered them. I guess I better go out to the warehouse and load up the old Ford, nahh I will wait. It is cold out and burning about 1/2 to a bag a day in the Mt Vernon.

Have a good New Years Eve everyone.

Eric

I have two kinds of pellets the ones from HD (north american I think) and ones from Tractor Supply. The TS one's seem to be warmer and produced much less ash than the HD ones.

North American are just re-bagged Currans. I burned about 20 bags last winter, and they were poor.....terrible heat output. If they've improved them, then I'd give them a shot, but don't buy any large qty. w/o test burning them first.

now you tell me, LOL. I actually bought a pallet of them and have (already) burned about 20-25 bags. They don't seem to produce the heat of the TS ones and produce ALOT of ash. I will say that I got the pallet for $180 so at least they were cheap. Where is a good place to go??

Well, at least they didn't cost a lot, but I'd get something better for the cold that's on the way.....save the NA's for the spring.

Seeings that your in the Albany area, give Lowes a call. A lot of them around this area have Greene Teams (Good) and some even have Somersets (Real good!). The one near me even has Timber Heat (aka Dry Creek) that I test burned in my stove.....I liked them a LOT.
