Ok this seems like a great deal to me but want to check with the pros here!

Enviro MC55 freestanding pellet stove listed for $1500, they’re willing to do $1300.
They said it works great and I will test it before purchasing.

Good deal or would you pass?

If the stove is clean and everything works as
Intended, the piece is very good
A new one in Canada costs over 5 thousand
As a person who likes Enviro, I would buy it
Here it would be priced used at around 25
hundred or more

She looks to be in good condition. Hopefully you can start it up, that is the true test. The price is very good, it being only 6 years old. Stay warm.

Yes, we plugged it in and she started right up!

They never even used it- it's been sitting in their garage since they purchased it brand new! They bought it to replace their wood burning stove but decided not to install it after they realized how much free wood they have access to on their property. We brought it home yesterday- cannot wait to install it! It is so beautiful!

Congratulations, you have bought a very good dependable stove
that can pump out 55 thousand BTU. Read the manual front to back
learn how to clean and service it . If you need more info, we are here for you
some experts on your stove. When you install it, make sure you plug it into a
surge protector. Good find, nice stov,e good deal

Thank you!! Our contractor will be installing it, but I'm a little worried as he doesn't have a ton of experience installing pellet stoves. Is there anything else we should know, or consider when installing? (Thank you for the surge protector tip!) This will be installed in a newly remodeled area, currently just a drywalled corner. We still need to add stone, hearth, etc.

We need to buy the vents as well. Any benefits to venting up through the roof, vs out the wall?

If it on an exterior wall, then you could have a tee then go up a bit, then straight out to another tee, then up 5 feet. I use outside air, although you will find 50% agree/disagree on that. I also use a big version of a UPS. There can be an issue if the power goes out and you can't do a normal shutdown. You could smoke the room up. Outside air will probably prevent that, and you won't suck cold air into your house for the combustion air. You are very lucky to get this stove. Enviro is a top quality brand and the guys here can help you keep it running. You will need to learn cleaning and operation.

Sounds like a fantastic find! Set it up properly, run quality pellets through her, she'll do the rest. Good luck.

Take a look at your location to see if there is an AC plug. You want it behind the stove so you can to hide the cord, but where you can get to it.
For a corner install the vent pipe will go out either wall but you will need probably at least 8-12 inches from the corner. Check to make sure there
are no windows that can open in the area. If there are, you will need to check the manual for clearance. The stove will have a decal on the back for clearances and that will overrule the manual of there is a difference. My guy used vent pipe that has built in gaskets, The other type they have to seal with RTV. If you can you'd like to be able to clean the vent pipe without taking the actual pipe apart, just the jet cap and tee ends. You will need a stove adapter and then 3" minimum if it is a short run. My guy went right to 4 inch from the stove adapter. That will all be double wall designed for pellet stoves. I'm not an installer but others are.

That OAK will work very well
UPS some someone else will chime in.
I don't use one because I have automatic
start Generator for the whole house

Thanks everyone!

For the outside air kit, would something like this work? https://www.amazon.com/Pellet-Intake-Outside-Aluminum-Screen/dp/B0CKYPWW3R

And can you recommend a UPS?
Yes something like that will work for sure. Check with the person doing the install as there is an option to get a wall thimble that has an air hookup. For a UPS, you have an option for short term, ie minutes, or many minutes. Or what I have is basically a battery back up system. I have my stove next to a large empty room (old furnace room) so I had lots of room to place the inverter, battery, charger. If you have no such area, then the UPS might have to go on the floor behind the stove. If you get a UPS you don't need the surge plug. There are some recent posts here just search UPS. I believe someone has a contact to order reconditioned UPS (you want sinewave 1000VA minimum)
The little UPS boxes will only give you enough time to shut it off if you are there at the time.
