My fireplace is in my big family room in my new addition. It is a Quadrafire 7100. whats the best way to get the heat circulated to the old part of the house.I have a fan blowing into the old part of the house but doesnt seem to me moving much heat to it.I have ceiling fans in the new addition which keeps the heat in there moving but just cant seem to get the heat through the doorway to the other part of the house.

Can you post a sketch of the floor plan that also indicated ceiling heights?

Not sure if this helps but here is a pic of the addition before I finished it.You can see at the far end there is a door. Thats into the old part of the house. New addition has two ceiling fans with vaulted ceiling that run 9' up to 12'. The old part of house has 8' ceilings. The other pic is looking in from the old part to the new addition. I read some place to blow the fan into the heated room instead of from the heated room?

Small door ways can be a hindrance to air flow but yes try blowing air into the room with the stove at a low level.
Nice work!

Yea,It came with two zone heat kits. I ran one to the new basement with also a return air from basement. I can get return air from basement or push lever to left and just draw it from the same room.I just couldnt figure a way to run a zone kit to the old part of the house.

Hope you don't mind me posting pics for you but I really like the finished look and I'm sure some of the guys would like to see it.

Dont mind at all. I have allot of work in my fireplace. And money but I am really glad I did it. It is nothing for it to keep my 750+ sqft new family room at 70 to 75 deg when its 10 outside.I really like it. Propane is up to $399 a gallon here now so I am trying to push some heat to the old part of the house. I have had a fan blowing on low into the heated room close to floor level for about an hour and I think it is helping. I would have never guessed to blow into the heated room instead of out from the heated room.

It can setup a more efficient loop by getting the colder air into the stove room to be heated.

Is that a double door going into the old part..kinda hard to tell from the pic.

Right now its just a 36" door but will be a 6' opening this spring when I finish everything up.Still have the heat and air to get installed and flooring and a back 12'x30' deck.

Just remember ymurf that it is easier to blow the cooler air than to try to force the warm into the cool. That is why we blow toward the stove rather than away from it. You can set a very small fan on the floor of a hallway or doorway and run it on low speed aimed at the stove and that will circulate the heat much better and quite quickly too.
