I have a Combi #4. It was installed 50 years ago. Previous owner left me the the invoice.

I have 3 questions: what size of gasket should I install? The first year, I installed a gasket that was to big and had trouble closing the door. Since then, I've been installing 1/8" white gaskets, but I can't find that in local hardware stores. Smallest I can find is 1/4".

Some of the bricks are cracked. One of the bricks broke in half and the top half fell out. So I need to replace the entire brick or can I get some refractory cement and just stick the top piece back in? A secondary question is can I use the stove if I'm missing half a brick?

3 winters ago, the axle for the door wore through and broke. I had a new axle machined to replace it. I put it all back together, but the door no longer rests on the springs, but instead falls and hits the floor. I suspect I need to pretention the springs before installing. I'm not very mechanically inclined and I don't know how to do this. Is there a procedure for replacing the axle?

Thank you.
