We're replacing an old VC Defiant and after looking at several options, it's still the one we like best. Looking for current info on the stoves VC is producing now.

Thanks,
Daniel

They are better than they used to be but are still overly complicated with lots of expensive parts to maintain

This is our brand new Defiant.1975 cat C
Picture is stove shut down.
Right air control is pushed closed or pointing to rear & Cat C on the the left is pushed closed or in the forward position.
CANNOT get this to choke down. It completely burns out in 3-4 hours. Top was 653°
Checked for air leaks, ash pan door leaked, adjusted that.
Checked all gaskets, nothing.
Used several types of wood with same issues.
Looking for suggestions please

It's looks like it's dialed back correctly. There is very little wood in it so I would expect it not to burn very long. There are no real active flames so I don't think you have an air leak. How are you checking the stove top temperature. What is the catalyst temperature.
