I just had my 37 year old stove pipe replaced today, it was at the end of the line. The new stainless steel double wall pipe had some surface dents in it, the installer told me that they always have an issue getting them like that because they are banged up during shipping, said if they send them back the next ones come with the same dents. They told me that they have never had an issue because of the dents and he said he used dented pipe at his own house, said some people throw a fit about the dents but they assured me that it would be okay. I ran my hand down into each section of pipe and didn't feel any indentations on the inside, and I really didn't have time to wait around and have things torn up for days or longer while they make who knows how many calls to get pipe in and hopefully not have any dents in it. It's on the roof so I don't care about the looks of it, is this okay like this?

In not a professional so this is just my 2 cents- I would say it is highly likely to be fine. You said you ran your hand down the inside of the pipe and didn’t notice any denting. That is very good news. I get it though, when you pay big money, you want things to be free of any issues. I believe dents occur fairly commonly in existing, installed class A chimney bc the outer wall of the chimney is quite thin compared to this inner wall.
Feel free to put up some pics of the outside and inside and that chimney and the folks on here can tell you what’s what.
