In our never ending redo of our beautiful 1989 14' wide x 74' long mobile home this summer's project was the living room. Biggest part was ripping out the old ZC fireplace & getting the Alderlea T4 installed.

So, my wife says as long as you're making a mess anyway wouldn't this be a great time to replace those 2 ugly double hung windows. And while you're at it why not bump the new window out 12" and I'll have a great plant shelf. Which naturally lead to why not bump out the whole 8' section of wall 16" and get the new window, the plant shelf and WOOD STORAGE.

If I had that, I would put the hardest, longest burning over-nighters there! Probably fit 25-35 large splits that would burn 10+ hours. Depending on how hot your stove runs it will also serve as a drying out station for some wood that may come in at 20% or higher...

The plan is one bay for big splits, one for small and one for kindling. Right now all the splits are small for short shoulder season fires.

In thinking about it, will you really need an entire bay for kindling? Wouldn't it be better to put kindling and small splits in one bay and use the other two for medium and large splits?
