Nice posting quads and a nice idea of mounting the camera. I had thought about getting one of the helmet cams or even using the ones they have now as a pair of glasses. But mounting direct on the saw seems like it worked great. How did you muffle the sound? Just a rag taped on perhaps?
I too have been wondering where you have been and how you are. Came close to sending you a PM last week but held off.
HA! Thanks everybody! I've been busy cutting cutting cutting. The land I have been cutting on these last few weeks, while trying to get caught up again since all the auction stuff is done, is the land that is part of the estate and will probably be sold within in the next few weeks. Many dead oaks on those 530+ acres so might just as well cut a bunch of it before it's gone. Been busting my hump! Even traded off the two old ATVs (the '96 Trailboss 250 and the oil-burning '06 Hawkeye 300) on a new 2012 Sportsman 400 HO.
Yes, a GoPro camera. Walmart had them on clearance this week, thought it was a good time to get one since they will probably never be cheaper. I used the handlebar mount and just clamped it to the handle of my 260, The sound is muffled because I had the waterproof case on the camera to keep all the flying debris off of it.
Yup.I cant tell you the last time I did,its been probably 20 yrs.Unless it was cutting something specific like a fence post or that 6 x 6 White Oak mail box post milled for parents in the mid 90's.Long as the wood's between 15 & 18 inches,I'm OK with that.A bit shorter if its larger diameter, knotty, twisted or all 3.
