Hi All,

I've purchased a used Zero Clearance fireplace and am wondering if anyone can tell from the pictures which manufacturer and model it is.

Hoping to install it and stay warm this winter:).

Thanks!

Looks like a basic contractor's special. Majestic? We are seeing a lot of people tearing these out this year and replacing them with modern EPA, ZC fireplaces that actually heat. You might want to review this plan before installing. The pipe is expensive and often will not work for another unit unless it is class A. It also won't work for an insert unless the flue gets a new liner.

Thanks, I'll do some google searching to see if I can verify.

I'm looking to install it this winter but without the manufacturers specs/installation guide I won't be able to get a building permit and I can't find the serial code or anything on the unit itself. Do they put the serial code in a sneaky place?

Thanks again!

Look for a metal tag inside the fire box.

HON Industries bought the fireplace business of Vega Industries in 1981. Your fireplace is a Heatilator. A really old Heatilator. I think they still market a Mark 123.
