House built in 1953 and I dont know if it has any insulation, assuming very little. Single pane windows.

Second question, I just located a seven year old Buck model 91 stove on craigslist near me (broken link removed to http://www.buckstove.com/wood/model91.html)

Would that be too big for my house? Any rules on that?

Hate to pass it up though, going for $300 "bucks"

thanks all

At 4.4 cu ft that Buck can be considered a big, make that huge, stove. Good deal perhaps but it seem way overkill for 1500 sq ft in Md.

Thanks for that....I have to say I agree. Would you be so kind as to look at my other thread and see what you think?

I took a look but don't know what stove that is. At first I thought a very early Osburn, but really am not sure. It looks like a pre-EPA stove, but I could be wrong.

You might want to look at the Englander insert or the Napoleons.

Thanks for looking, I'll look into them.
