Well i'm about to finish my stove install, i'm putting in selkirk super vent, one 42-64 telescopic double wall to the cathedral box then 8ft of class a chimney everything seems kosher except for the actual connection to the stove collar...can i just slip the double wall over the collar or do i need some type of adapter-the fit is good when i put the dbl wall over the collar-trie contacting englander but no response yet.....

depends on if the inner wall of the pipe seats properly inside the collar and seals up. its important that we have an airtight seal through the flue system from collar to cap to prevent air intrusion into the flue which cools the gasses leaving the stove

I have the englander 17-vl and duravent pipe. Guy from englander told me if it would fit over the collar without forcing it, it didn't need an adapter. It didn't for me though, I had to buy the adapter without the damper

On my 30nc the DuraVent just sets in there snug. No issues at all. The idea is just press fit w the pipe being the male end so anything running down the inside goes into the stove. Set your pipe on there and see if it fits snug. An absolute seal is not critical - rather a snug fit that can be easily removed with a little jostling. Yes there may be a tiny bit of air coming into mine(maybe) but not enough to effect the performance or safety of the unit.
