Hoping to make it through the next couple of 60/40 days without lighting up.

Well, it was 85 today. Right now it feels about 72. It's still a lot cooler than the 117 during the summer where the nights cool off to 98. Still, I've had enough and am looking forward to needing a sweater . . . or coat . . . or better yet . . . a fire in my wood stove!

today may be the day for us....low 60's and wet. Gonna try and hold off, but I really wanna fire that puppy up:cool:

I have so much poplar and cottonwood...but still waiting for it dip into the mid 30's. Maybe tonight. It is all i will burn for the next 30-60 days probably.

It's supposed to be 45 down here tonight. May have to fire it up just because for a small one. Been itching awhile

I try to hold off until the end of October or until the nights get into the mid-40's

I lit my first one today. It was rainy/damp and only 63 degrees inside the house. It's now 72 degrees inside and the fires dying down.

Going down to 38 here. Just lit 'er up.

Yeah I just put the pellet basket in the 30 and fired it off.

Lit my first today 39 outside 59 inside at 4pm,babysat the grand daughter and burnt 2yr old box elder 75now and sweating!

I hated to do it but I had to start a fire this afternoon. Temp never got above 48 today supposed to frost tonight . 74 and cozy inside 40 outside

Same here with some boxelder as well. I actaully lit mine last night and stoked it up again this morning. These woods work well for some mild heat that won't cook you out of the house. Got the house up to a toasty 76* on as low as the stove would go while keeping the secondaries dancing. Its still at 73 now. It sure felt good coming in for warm up breaks after being outside in the 45* temps with 15 mph winds today doing the fall yard work!

I will light mine when a nice oven cooked meal will not get the house past 68*. Early fall is good eating. Warm the house with food I say. Hoping for another 20 days, that may not be very realistic tho.

Trying to hold off here... mainly because I haven't moved wood up to the house from the stacks. If we can make it through tomorrow (highs in the low 50s, lows getting down to mid 30s), we should be good for another couple of weeks. Certainly could use the heat. House in the low 60s so propane will have to do for now!

It's 40 outside here now going to get to low 35 the high today was only 52. I wanted to light it off in a bad way but the house is at 70 with no heat so if I did it would go to mid 80s fast maybe in the morning I hope dang it.

We have a family/friends pool going on first fire date here with the mandated first fire happening on the day that the 3pm temp in the hottest part of the house is 65 degrees. That could happen today with this chillier snap if it's overcast. If not today though will likely be another week or two at least. My date is 10/23.

I actually got a 7 hour burn off cotton wood last night with my stove packed to the brim. Then was able to reload with some difficulty on crappy cottonwood "coals" this morning. Super stoked about burning again even though we really were hoping to make it until later in oct/nov.

At least we have plenty of cotton wood to burn before we start to hit-up the hardwood.

I got a little carried away yesterday and loaded up a normal load, followed by another normal load 8 hours later. Temps in the 30's but everyone was opening up bedroom windows to sleep last night. Stove is cold today. I'll wait until someone complains about being cold before lighting up again.

A warehouse sized stack of wood, an autopilot furnace that will run on "low" without crapping up your chimney, and you are gonna sweat a few sticks of wood being saved!? _g I guess the benefit of "h-eating" is as good as any ;) ;lol

Had to fire it up last night and tonight, but should be able to go without for another week or two after tonight
