We just bought a new house with a fireplace. I want to remove it and install my amaizablaze corn stove. I have had this stove for a few years and it works good. It is an insert model that was set up to be freestanding. I do plan on burning straight corn. The manufacturer recommends just installing a short piece of pipe up into the masonry chimney. Would this be acceptable? I know I will have to pull the stove at the end of the year and clean the fly ash.
