First real "Arctic" blast for the eastern US coming January 3rd

Looks like winter has finally arrived for the Eastern US... Models show a solid week of colder than normal temps starting around January 3rd. Maybe even some snow...(computer models all over the place)

Bring it on....have been waiting to put my P68 to the test. Got down to 0* one night and the stove kept the house warm. Waiting for an extended cold period to see how I make out. 50* today - WTF.

I'm looking at the forecast for Connecticut through January 11th. Only one day where the low is in the teens. All other days in the mid to high 20's for the low... no arctic blast here.

The forecast for NY's Capital District is for 18 high/17 low on 3 Jan.
We were down to 9 degrees a week ago. 17 is nothing...

According to the folks that change their temperature forecasts almost hourly and still mange to get it wrong (weather.com aka the weather channel) the average temperature for Jan 3 for here is supposed 16 °F . High 17 low 15. That isn't the coldest of the season for us so far as it hit 0 here just a short while ago and the high never made it to the 30's that day. I actually turned the firing rate to 3 that day. We lost all of the snow cover we had in the wind and rain last night. My chickens are happy and left their coops this morning. I have a chain reaction chicken pile up when there is snow on the ground, they run out the door and hit their brakes when they see the snow.

Looks like my stove won't get a real test till later in the winter. Our forecast, here in northwest Westchester County, is for relatively moderate temps except for night-times in the 20's early next week.

Didn't you get the memo? . . . it is getting colder because of global warming, which also is why there is sometimes a lot of snow!

Here in CT, we've had a few very cold nights but mostly it seems milder than normal. I've only had my stove on 4 (out of 5) a couple of times. I'm not really looking forward to those below zero temps but feel better about it knowing my oil fired boiler is resting instead of cranking away.

I have only burned my stove twice over a 24 hr. period so far this burn season. This year I have been turning it off thru the middle of the day & the house will hold its heat for about 6 to 8 hours or so.

Send the white stuff up north to the ski area's!

All I know is I have wood outside waiting to be burned and will p@#sed if I don't use it as I don't wanna move it back!
+1 for the pellet stove as there is over 150 bags waiting to be burned in the house I don't have to move again!

Bring it on,i just done a complete cleaning and stocked up on some Spruce Pointe's,plus got a few bags of NorthEast pellets to try,from the re-built Ashland plant
