From Heat to A/C in 24hr

Yesterday at this time we had the stove going and it felt good. We now have the A/C on. Starting to think the season for heat is about over.

Same here in Cincy. Only I am not going to run the a/c just yet. Opened the windows, turned on the whole house fan and it feels great. Not ready to pay the high cost of cooling yet.

84 degrees and sunny. I am sitting on the deck grilling and sipping a cold one in reward for the cord of wood I got cut up this afternoon. :cheese:

Fire last night. Heaters this morning. Supposed to maybe hit 90 tomorrow.

42 degrees, lots of rain and fog. 2 ft of snow still in the bush behind the house but will finally start to go with this weather. Fire on tonight taking charge of the dampness. spring may come one of these weeks........................

the only cool spot in the house right now is the basement. this morning i had a few pieces burning in the stove to knock off the chill down here. kept the windows shut so the upstairs didnt heat up. today the temp got up to 85f and thats a new record. pete

Even though the last two days have been in the upper 80's, I've not needed to punch up the air conditioner just yet. However, I was just thinking last night that, as much as I enjoy the comfort of the wood burning stove, it is just as well that there is no such thing as a wood burning air conditioner.

Well..
you could use a wood fire to move a ammonia based refrigeration unit...my rv fridge works that way.
Crazy when you first think about it..heat making my fridge cold..lol.
It would take one big a_ _ unit though to suck the heat out of a house.

sounds like a typical summer day in Montana... especially towards September... drops well below freezing at night, thin warms up to 70-80 degrees in the daytime. lol
Right now we're hovering in the mid-to-upper 30's for daytime highs with overnight lows in the low-to-mid 20's... supposed to warm up into the 40's next week...

We hit 68f outside yesterday afternoon, but back down to under 40 this morning.
Didn't light up the stove last night but will do tonight as it's only forecast to get to 58.

Not sure if I want to sit and shiver after being toasty warm when it was freezing outside..........

Sunday 3am 38 deg. 9am around 50, noon 83deg. this morning about 50 and dropping. Wisconsin- if you do not like the weather, wait 20 minutes it will change.

Been in the 40s but seems much warmer. Been working outside in T Shirt the last couple days. I suppose could light a few pieces of kindling in the stove, but easier at this point to let the boiler do it's thing and not have it 85* in the house.

Today was one of those typical spring days. Sunny and really warm here at the house. But then I took the atv to visit a neighbor and almost froze! Typically in the spring we get north or northeast winds. Because we are so protected on the north it gets really warm back in here but then when we go out it is a real wake up call. Temperature in high 40's with north wind can be chilly. I was glad to come back home.

After a warm weekend with 70f days and 40f nights, it's back to 48f days and 36f nights.

Definitely worth lighting up, even for two or three hours.

Particularly as Mrs Woodchip came home with a bag of crumpets to cook tonight......

Cold and rainy here today. Stoves back on full bore. Sure feels good to take the chill out of the air and dry things up a bit after nearly 30hrs of steady rain and temps in the mid 40s.

Still heating here . . . and still haven't gone 24 hours without lighting a fire . . . 32 degrees or so this morning . . . things are warming up though . . . my crocuses are out . . . and yesterday I drove hom with the moonroof open.
