Question:

I just purchased a Jotol Oslo stove from a dealer in Michigan. They seem like they do not know much about these stoves, and the Jotul webpage doesn't have a section to e-mail them. My question is, what is the insulating blanket's purpose. It sits inside the stove on top of the burner plates. Just wondering.

Answer:

Keeps the fire inside the box even hotter so that it burns cleaner...helps the stove meet the requirements of the EPA testing for low emissions.
