Enjoying the great weather to get some wood c/s/s should be done by next week. Some red oak , locust
This is the rest of the load I will c/s/s by next week depending on the weather
That's not a wood shed. It was a crate that my splitter came in and all the uglies go in there for the fire pit. I learned too much on here from guys like you to cover wood ..NyLife, nice work. Now, is that a wood shed pictured or are we seeing a wood pile completely covered with tarps?! I hope not as wood should be top covered only. The tarps will hold in the moisture that you are trying to get rid of.
Good for you. What ever is free is always a blessing.Same here cut 4 - 8 foot trailer loads the last couple days, mostly ash and white birch.
This is perfect outdoor work weather. I'm glad you got some work done as well.Good man, taking advantage of the weather myself today.
I agree with you. I could work outdoors till it gets dark out. I hate those bugs. That's why I love the winter - no bugsGreat work - this is perfect cutting time - days in the 20's and sunny - can work hard and not be sweating too much and not too cold - and no biting bugs! I cut a couple of red maple today - c/s/s one and the other is still on the ground - during the first felling and bucking, realized the rakers were high on the chain and didn't want to keep cutting with the one saw I brought (Dolmar). Cheers!
It will be well worth it once it's dry. Did you put the meter to it after u split itI've been splitting some BL today. 6 months down and still very damp. Bark is falling off
but long seasoning process with BL.
