[Hearth.com] Had the ol 13 blowing last night for first overnighter


She rose to 700 and then cruised for awhile at 550 and I hit the sack. This was ash and oak
 
Sure brings a certain satisfaction doesn't it? ;)
 
For every 3 pieces you burn you seem to get 10 to stock pile in your yard - I'm envious, ash and oak is my go to combo when the cold comes a knocking at my door

i honestly dont know how you people in the deep south ever have a fire. I cant run my insert unless it is below freezing. I lived in Mississippi for 2 years and i wore shorts year round.

I build a fire because I enjoy it and don't like to pay a high power bill. Your blood is probably thicker if your used to living in a colder climate. When it's below freezing here you won't catch me in shorts:)
