I saw this stove on Craigslist, the only think seller knows is she’s had it for about 5 years and it’s only been used a dozen times.

The photo is not very clear, but looking at it, it could be a US Stove Company 1100B. Small stove up to 1100 square feet heating capacity. I have one. Decent stove for a few small rooms.

What are the basics when going to look at this. Just make sure there are no cracks?

Check for cracks, broken fire box brick (easy to replace). Remove the bricks and check for cracks under the bricks. Check the top (baffle where 2 rows of holes are for cracks (over firing). Overall appearance. I paid $350 for a brand new one in 2015 (it was on sale at Tractor Supply Company), so don't pay too much. There is and ID tag on the back. Should have a blower too. If it is the same one.

Okay that seems easy enough. I’ve been zooming in and out trying to find every little detail I can. The one I’m showing has legs. Yours has a base.

Yea those look good.

So check for cracks
Move fire bricks make sure there are no cracks near holes
And bricks are not broke

Like a manufacture tag?

Yes, there should be a tag on the rear of the stove giving you information about brand, model, date of manufacturing, testing lab and EPA compliance, as well as UL listing information.

It’s a Monessen Windsor steel wood stove. Are those any good?

Not familiar with the brand, but I checked their website and it seems they don't make wood stoves anymore, just gas. However, if you do a search on this website, there is some info to find.

Yea I’ve been looking this entire time. I came across a Vermont Castings page that still manufactures some parts.

I also can across a hearthsidedistributers.com they are quoting me $230 for shipping and all. I’m going to have to call them in the morning.

Doesn't look like a Monessen Windsor based on the manual I have but there were several stoves in this discontinued product line.

No problem. I updated your question in the Classics. The stove could be valuable depending on its rarity and demand. I wouldn't want to sell you short with a bad appraisal.
