Hello! I finished installing my p43 last week and now I'm looking at the place on the ashpan where there slate tile is. It looks empty and unfinished and I want to do something about it.
Anyways, I looked around at the stock slate tiles and some custom ones and don't want either, so my plan is to take the same porcelain tile from my hearth pad, cut it in half and install it.
I want to make a nice tight fit, so I only get one chance. The ash pan gets pretty freakin hot, so I figured I'd use the same hi temp silicone I sealed my pipe joints with as an adhesive between the tile and stove.
Good idea? Bad Idea? Better idea?
thanks!
