(typing is not fun right now.....)
Well, earlier this summer I was splitting away with our hydraulic splitter and a hickory chunk slapped back at me and tried to push my thumbnail back into the cuticle. Result: Split nail, from tip back to cuticle, is still healing.
Now today, splitting some more hickory, I got a split stuck on the ram so used another piece of wood to force the other split off the ram. That piece of wood literally blew up on me when I still had my hand (same hand) on it. Result: Ring finger, tall man & pointer were totally flipped over backwards. :bug:
My grip is a little less tonight. (sigh)
Tomorrow: Oak splitting time. Should be interesting... Pinky is the only finger on the left hand not injured. :-S
EDIT: Upon further inspection, I guess my shins didn't handle wood splitting too well today either. That's just what I get though as I normally wear my Kevlar chaps when splitting (more 'cush' when a split flies) but didn't wear them today for some reason.
