You have two fire boards over the tubes so you should be OK to burn without the blanket, you will loose a bit of efficiency but for weekend burning only you will be fine.

That is weird, never heard of that issue happening before. All the stoves I have come across they have a round metal disk that is about 4" and fairly heavy that sits on the ceramic blanket.

My stove has a similar ceramic wool blanket but there's a metal weight, a disc about 4.5" in diameter that goes on top of it right in the middle.

You can operate the stove without the blanket, but I think it works better with. Sounds like you need one of those weights.
Sounds like it was a bit of a fright for him. Can't blame him for keeping it out for a while.

It is interesting that so many stoves seem to come with a weighted blanket. That suggests to me that they all should. Manufacturers seldom spend even a small amount of money on something that's unnecessary.

well, I guess there could be a weight in there, but the stove got turned every way to sunday while I unloaded it and then turned it over to hook the base onto it, but the manual never says anything about a weight.. still need to call them, I guess it could of got slit out of sight?? There was 2 crumbled pieces of paper in there holding the nblanket inplace when I was putting the stove togeather. I assumed that this was so that the blanket stayed in place. Also said nothing about removing paper but I did as it would combust there below the flue anyway!

here is the link to the PDF for parts. I see no weight in there just the bricks and the blankey!
