I think we are better off on the Dino Juice

Weathers been warm this week but I think the party's over soon. Who is going on the Dino juice with oil so cheap,

I think this is the third thread basically asking the same thing. Gas or fuel cheaper and less work in some areas. I can burn corn for about 75 cents cheaper a day if burning steady over propain at 93 cents a gallon. Using gas for shoulder period till temps stay below freezing.

Guilty here for sure. No financial motivation to burn wood with my propane so (relatively) cheap. Better let the oak season another year, because there's not much chance these gas prices will last.

I'll burn wood for sure on those sub freezing days, but better to keep my limited supplies for a different winter.

I am cussing the CEO of our electric co-op. A few years ago he broke off from a co-op of co-ops because they were starting to depend more on natural gas. And they own a nuke plant. He took us to deals with all-coal plants.

Guilty here as well, Pellets 269$ a ton and higher, oil, I filled up for 1.86$ a gal.

I done miss the smell of burning wood tho

Heat Pump doing it's thing during the shoulder season.. We have used about 2 bag of pellets and a bushel of corn for the ambiance in the parlor stove. Also like to try things out before we need to use it

We have 2.5 tons of corn in the basement so I will burn that up as I don't like to keep corn over the summer. We have approx 500 lbs. of pellets left from last year and will likely use them this winter.

I wonder if you could do an oil assisted pellet stove, like a oil drip setup, like old oil stoves used to be..Does sound a lttle dangerous though..maybe not....

Same here. Even with rates a bit cheaper this year it's still way cheaper to heat the house at 70 degrees w/pellets vs electric at 66 degrees.

Excel electric just asked for a 10 percent rate hike here in MN. We are around 12 cents without the $25 monthly service fee.

It's included in the .18. Last year total was .23/kWh.
