I need to replace the front ballast support and the air tube on my Lopi insert. Please help me identify so I can source the correct parts. I bought the home two years ago and am using the stove more this year leading me to discover the significant deterioration of these components.

It looks like this is an older predecessor. The baffle brick pattern is older than the 1989 Answer 95. A guess would be the Premiere Answer from around 1988?

Also how is it hooked up? Does it have a full liner? Does the fireplace allow an insert?

It's possible the stove was used or old inventory when put in. Or that someone has replaced the baffle firebrick leading to my confusion over the model year. This looks like the old-style steel secondary tube. I think Lopi switched to stainless for the tubes in the mid-90s but don't quote me on that. It's a shame they let it go so long. When the insert is pulled for service, there should be a UL tag on the back identifying it. At that point, it can also be ascertained whether the insert is connected to a full 6" liner.
