My recent install was a breeze do to adjustable pipe. With a heavy stove I was wondering how you could use black single wall pipe? You can't slip it into the ceiling and bring it down on the stove, it would be a bear to tip that stove. I was just wondering how you guys install pipe when not using the adjustable pipe?

I always use an adjustable. Single wall or double wall. The single wall slip section locks into the support box.

I make a custom slip joint out of single wall pipe Imagine the common single wall pipe has a crimprd end and a rib If one were to cut the crimprd end off and rib you would have a straignt pipe
I then hand crimp an end with out the rib issue wd 40 both sections and slide the together then overlapping them about 4" I then separate the custom fit to the final lenghts and attach the necessary sheet metal screws. No need to purchase an expensive slip joit when one can do the same with common pipe

With Duravent the slip acts as an adapter to the support box as well. But in many other cases cutting the rib off a 12" seciton of single wall makes a perfect slip.
