Insulation around Electric Fireplace Insert

I recently purchased a electric fireplace insert. Is it safe to put insulation around the trim of the insert? I get a draft around the sides.

I'd imagine it heats up to 150 degrees or so - not burning, but hot to the touch.

What does the manual say?

there is no mention. I’m wondering if there is an issue using insulation at that temperature. If not, what type should i use.
