This will be the 5th season with my liberty and I just replaced the original factory gasket and have noticed it a lot harder than the factory gasket was. With the factory gasket I could fluff it up once in a while but the new stuff is pretty hard.
Perhaps too much gasket cement was used and that got soaked up into the gasket? It will harden after the first fire bakes it. I made this mistake on the Jotul once and had to replace the gasket.
