Hello to all! I am very new to this so apologies if I am doing this incorrectly. I have a fireplace in my basement that I have been thinking about getting a wood burning insert for. I came across this on Craigslist:

The seller said he would take $100 for it. Is this a good buy? I asked if it had a blower and he said no. What should I be looking at on this? Any advice on buying one used?

Thanks in advance!

It's an old pre-EPA Lopi warhorse. Looks like it might be based on the LX series? For $100 it is a good deal if no problems. It won't be the most efficient insert, but it's well made. Make sure it will fit your fireplace. This may be the manual for this insert?

Yep, Good deal. Same stove I have been using for about 8 years.
Bought mine for $200. Built like a tank. You will need 3 strong guys and a stout 2 wheeled cart with ratchet straps to move that beast.
It's Lopi LX Extended Hearth model.

Looking at the pics. If that is a grate in the stove.
Take that out and just burn on the firebrick on the floor of the stove.
