It doesn't need to be Selkirk single wall. Any single wall will be fine. You don't even need to use the same brand double wall connector pipeI can't find any single wall made by selkirk at this store? Might have to ordering from another store. I don't know my roof pitch I'll have to check that out soon.
You can shield for the pipe yes. With a proper ventilated heat shield. The stove you have to check the manualEven if I need the stove closer to the wall I can add sheet metal and put it closer right?
It really is going to be very straightforward for your install. Just read all the instructions and follow them. And I am happy you are doing it right this timeLol thank you very much yooperdave, I'm pretty handy and have a few friends that are handy too, but nobody I know has ever installed a wood burning stove. I'm the first!
I'm so damn excited to finally have a wood burner and want to make sure I do everything right.
Yes that's what I was referring to about doing it right this timeBholler do you remember me from a while ago with my first wood burner setup?
That was pretty rough
You only need silicone on the storm collar and any silicone is fine thereWhat type of silicone should I use? I see that a few are good for around 600 degrees, that seems pretty low.
That’s a good thing! I think your flashing was good until 6/12, lol.Just measured my pitch and it's 6/12.
If it's double wall pipe you can't cut it to lengthYup , I just pulled the trigger on the piping. I didn't get the expandable pipe I'm going to buy two 36inch pipes and cut them to length.
