Just went through the break-in burns.
This is the first night of burning.

That's a purty sight. Can the side door open all the way?

Consider something more permanent for floor ember protection. It could be a 1 ft wide sheet of copper or steel nailed to the floor.

Side opens fine. Had a VC Dutchwest Sequoia there for 20 yrs. No problem.
Question: woke this morning to enough coals to get the fire going again. The glass is all smoked over. Any way to prevent it or how to burn it off next morning? Interestingly, the Dutchwest never had that issue.

That can happen to my f400 with not dry enough wood and the draft set too low.
But it is a different stove.
A hot fire with dry wood will burn it off in the f400.
