Just bought a Blaze King Princess Insert

Folks,
After much going back and forth between Lopi Freedom and BK Princess today I pulled the plug on the BK Princess insert.

The dealer wanted $2950, I drove down to his shop negotiated a little and got him down to $2700. So hopefully by next week it should be installed.

Feedback/thoughts on pricing or the insert?

Tigger this will be my first insert ever. The primary fact that I really liked about BK was the longer burn times since our winters are not as harsh as other parts of the country. The price difference between Lopi and BK was roughly $300.

You'll love it. When comparing prices note that folks east of the Mississippi get nailed an extra1000+$ for the same stoves so they consider bks "luxury" stoves due to cost.

Hoping to catch some feedback on the princess insert from any users. We have an Enviro M55C pellet insert currently and are looking to possibly add the princess insert in our other fireplace to help distribute the heat better. We stopped by and looked at Lopi and Vermont Casting, but the Blaze King seems to have good feedback online. Just hoping for some first hand experience/review from users here.

NY- I installed my blazeking insert last fall. I previously heated with a century 2500. That was a good little stove but its JV vs. Varsity. The blazeking heated my 1900 sqft house all winter long. (like furnace was shut off) As you are aware we had a fairly long winter in New England. The stove was great in the shoulder season (19ish hours burns) and great in the dead of winter(9-12 hr burns) It produces a lot of heat when I needed it and a little heat when I wanted it. I was really impressed. As everyone will preach...DRY wood is a must. Everything I burned was under 20%. This was my first cat stove so I was a bit nervous. I installed myself, and then had a chimney company come look at it. It passed. Funny though he had never heard of BK. Oh well. I use too keep a rack of wood inside my living room next to the stove. t made loading easier. Last winter I just keep the next load of wood. I wasn't loading as often as my previous stove so no need for all that wood in there. I would highly recommend one. Good luck.

So what should we be paying east of the Mississippi for say an Ashford 30 with blower kit? Because it sure feels like i paid an arm and a leg for the one i just bought compared to these fellas out west.

I'll give you feed back... Bought a Harman Accentra insert for $5k, pellets now $300 per ton or so and can get wood at $175/cord, seasoned, cut/split and delivered. Don't like the heat from pellet (compared to wood stove) and certainly don't like the cleaning and maintenance - I do like the instant on with the flick of a switch but this does not rival the cons in the aforementioned. Although you are not asking for a compare (pellet vs wood), I would now go for the wood insert, and a BK would be a strong consideration when reviewing the comments on these threads. May ultimately replace my Jotul (part of the family) with a BK.

Sounds right on for the most part. Good price on the liner, a little high on the labor, might be right on if your roof is particularly difficult.

And because of BKVPs comment to an old post we now know that a BK stove is not supposed to cost a lot more on the east coast than the west. I call that relevant info.

Well, when you are wrong you are wrong. I can't fix that. I have tried a few times.

You don't have to bury inane responses to five or ten year old threads a dozen times a week. Not that I don't know that is something you want to be able to do.
