Just scored this stove cheap...

09 Cumberlan.
A friend of mine was having issues with it last winter and stopped using it. Well I tore it down for him this spring and cleaned it finding why he was having overtemp issues. All the side heat tubes were a solid piece of carbon. I cleaned it all up and he never again fired it up. He went and bought a new p61 and sold me this for 300.00.
Now to get it home and run it hot to see what it does before removing my Englander and replacing it. (broken image removed)

$300 is a deal! Wish I could find some deals like that. Hard to find anything used for less than $1,000 here. Looks nice too and you already cleaned it. You should buy your friend lunch since he set you up so well.

if it is a 3800 it is a great stove, cant say too much about the others as i have no experience with them. that stove will burn the crappiest stuff you can throw at it as long as you keep it clean.

if it has a remote with a cable on it, its a 3800. If the controller is permanently mounted on the side it could be one of the earlier models. I have a 3650 and its my workhorse. One thing to be cautious about is the manual feed or "add pellets" button. Push it once and it stays on continuously feeding pellets at a high rat. You must push I again to make I stop. Never push it and walk away or you're in for a big surprise.
