Hello
I have the old basic dark green Sears LT-1000
The Old All Metal tractor with the Kholer 17 HP engine that can really last! This one is approx 18 years young.
[Hearth.com] LT-1000 Sears Tractor - Snow Blower Attachment Lift Cable Broke!

A couple years ago the snow blower bearings or bushings went and the blower belt kept jumping off. After replacing those with some enamel spray paint it was good as new!
Last year the cable that lets the blower blade down to the surface broke. I could still lift it but could not use the trigger handle to let it back down. I had to jump off and manually pull up the slide up latch and let the blower blade down myself! LOL
Not hard to replace but had to get the correct part number from the manual and order it online for about $28 with shipping

It Works!
Cable part # 49912 It did come with Trigger not shown on web page. :)
Anyone else have this problem?

Dad had a Sears 12 HP in the late 60's. It had 50 LBs wheel weight on each back wheel. What low end torque it had. You had to be careful, it would lift the front wheels. With chains that thing would move in snow. I recall the attachments weren't all that well made. Thin metal and poor bearings.

I didn't think the newer ones were built all that well. But if you can still get parts, or have the time to Mcgiver the repairs you maybe able to keep it going.

I bought this LT-1000 brand new in 2003 so it is 20 years old now. I had the timing gear in the engine replaced and the bearings in the snow blower attachment replaced.
