Well hopefully the fence should be an easy fix. But if you keep getting pellets this way you might want to do some redesigning ( lift out sections or some such thing).

Wow! What the heck did he have?
A few years back I had some delivered and he almost fit in my garage..
It was too tall, not wide..

It should'nt have been any bigger than one of these.

If it was, I'd request they not use that large of one again. Not so much for fence repair, but they can break sidewalks and yard irrigation systems.

Thats what they use to deliver my pellets. lot of power in that thing. We're usually able to place a 4x4 in front of 3 lined up tons and slide the entire 3 tons into the garage.

Yes what pellets and from where ?

Ace Hardware has Spruce Pointe and will deliver at the same price as picked up ( too much money) but they said they will only deliver on a hard surface. I assume they don't have a rig with pnuematic tires but just a pallet jack type thing. My driveway is half mechadam in stone and other parts are just stone. When I restone I wouldn't call that a hard surface LOL. But obviously some companies have real for trucks doing the lifting. I've never had a pellet delivery I always pick up.

I sure hope they sent fresh and this ends up a good story. I dont have any reason to dis home depot as they have always treated me just fine. But far too often when someone trusts a large company to to do the right thing, it ends up a horror story. But they sure did a nice job somewhere of weather proofing those stacks. I wish more companies would do that good of job. "Here" you get the plastic topper and one layer of shrink around the outside.

I assume you are hand carrying the pellets inside under cover? If so, removing the fence seems like much bother to gain an extra 15 ft?

If that is the case have them drop the pellets outside the fence. Invest in a nice hand truck if you dont already have one. You can move about 5 bags at a time without much muscle, 10 bags on a hand truck but then that takes some strength.

If you have a rider mower that fits through the fence, a nice towable cart would do the trick. I built one out of a spare pallet. I can scoot around 1/2 ton at a time around the property.

Well....my brother who unloaded and stacked the whole ton was pretty happy he didn't have to carry them from in front of the fence...BUT now its his job to fix my fence...soooooooooo....hehehehe

Well normally I go pick them up, but my brother's truck is in the shop for a major repair (antifreeze leak)...so, I was stuck getting them delivered which actually was easier in a way but I have some logistics to work out if I am getting them delivered again in the future. I got them from Home depot...Big Heat pellets and the infamous "mystery brand" until I can get to them.

I was really pleased with the delivery guy....in fact I called Home depot to pay him a compliment. I live in a historic district as you can see from the fact there are no roads just sidewalks and its not easy to find or get back here with equipment. The driver was really patient and he came up with a solution to get back here...he also helped me take down the fence which I could not do by myself....I had to pull up the post which was buried like 100 feet apparently. I could not have left the pellets outside the fence as the historic committee would have sent the code enforcement officer after me in a heartbeat.

Never would I have HD or any place deliver me a ton or 2 of "Unknown pellets"....!!!
call me paranoid but too much mediocre ashy to crap stuff from the Big box stores...

I am a fly by the seat of my pants kind of gal...lol...since this is my first season burning pellets...I am eager to try any brand I can get my hands on until I find the ones I really like....then I will be more picky. Like for example my serenity does not care for cheat river pellets nor timber creek. It likes green supremes (which alot of stoves don't seem to like) and clean energy....I wouldn't know that based on reviews...I only know this from personal experience....so, it doesn't bother me to have mystery brands delivered. However, I do see your point about wanting to know what brand you are getting.

Actually the few bags of Green Supreme I got this year burned very well, not too ashy. They aren't the hottest on the planet but from all the hoopla about them we hear around the forum you would think they were next to unburnable and soaked in fire retardant.

The clean energy pellets are rebagged Hamers so if you can buy them by the ton you got a good Pellet.

Seems to me you should be able to pick what brand you want delivered, you are the customer, or lets just say I am the customer. If I call up the Cement Company who Stocks hard and soft Energex and who sells LG granules, I can tell them which I want and that is what they deliver. If I go to the store they will ask what brand I want and or soft or hard. If I go to HD I can pick up between two brands what they have out on the floor. But if I have them delivered to my house I have no choice ? A service that I pay for I might add. You know they will send what ever they wish and that probably is what they have most in stock. Inventory control at the expense of my desired brand. Right now HD locally has FSU and ThermaGlo incidentally. And to me, of those two, the FSU are superior by a fair margin, yet I couldn't order those to be delivered ? I have to wait to see what is under the wrapper ? It almost seems illegal., It seems good that they don't do that they don't do the same thing with refrigerators.

I would never buy without knowing what brand I'm getting,I would rent one of their trucks for $19.00 and haul the brand I want myself.

Yeah, that is what happened to me this fall. HD had a bunch of Chows (never burned them, but figured they couldn't be as bad as some chit I've burned), so ordered 2 tons to be delivered while they were delivering other stuff for me. They wouldn't let me pick what I wanted. Which makes no sense because I could have gone out and picked the 2 tons I wanted if I was picking them up myself. I figured with all the Chows on the floor and in the garden area, that is what I would get (or FSU's, which would be fine by me). Much to my dismay, I got ThermaGlos. Glad I only ordered the 2 tons instead of the 4 I was thinking of.

Lowes let me pick the brand when I got 2 tons from them.
